Last week, Construction Futures partnered with MEGA, MRLP, and The Big Bridge at the Explore Engineering Expo in Cookstown. Over 1,500 young people attended, getting hands-on with activities and discovering what the construction, manufacturing, and engineering sectors have to offer.

Over the past number of weeks, Construction Futures has proudly partnered with Sentinus to deliver the pilot of our new flagship education programme — STEMstruct — aimed at introducing young minds to the world of construction, sustainability, and design, with 193 students taking part.

The Spring NISCA Conference, held at the La Mon Hotel, once again proved to be an invaluable opportunity to connect with careers teachers from across Northern Ireland and showcase the vital support available to help young people explore careers in construction.

Construction Futures was proud to sponsor and support the 2025 SkillBuild NI Regional Competition, hosted at SERC’s Downpatrick Campus. This annual event run by CITB continues to be a cornerstone in the development of young construction talent across Northern Ireland - and this year’s competition was no exception.

Last week, Northern Ireland's construction industry celebrated a remarkable achievement, as over 500 visitors from diverse educational backgrounds, as well as members of the public, participated in Build UK’s first Open Doors Week in Northern Ireland..

A Nationwide Initiative is gearing up to help schools and colleges shine a light on careers in construction at a time when the industry needs 50,000 new workers a year in the UK.
