Construction Futures is an industry-driven force, operated by employers, through the Construction Employers Federation, and the employee representatives from the Unite and GMB Unions.
The joint objective is to identify a range of challenges faced by the construction industry and to develop meaningful solutions.
Construction Futures was created following last year’s EY Industry Skills Review report.

Our Mission
Increase awareness of Built Environment Careers in Northern Ireland and promote the construction sector as a source of high value, long term employment.
Facilitate industry and education collaboration to support and develop apprentices/students with skills for life, and ensure education and skills provision are aligned with the needs of the construction sector to effectively address key industry challenges.
Enhance workforce skills and training data collection for strategic industry planning to create transformational career opportunities and assist with retaining our people.
Research & Engagement
Construction Futures have spent months focusing on engaging with key stakeholders in the construction industry, to gather insights and perspectives from the right people.
This phase has been crucial in understanding the needs and challenges within the construction industry, allowing us to tailor our strategies effectively.

The sector employs approximately 65,000 people and has a total output of approximately £3.3 billion per year.
